Michele Hauf
~How do you think romace has changed in the last 30 years?
It’s become more real, and offers a huge variety of genres within the overall genre of romance, so every woman can find something that’ll interest them.
~What type of romace do you prefer to read?
Paranormal or historical.
~What are your favorite types of Heros & / or heroines?
I love a kick-ass heroine. And a hero to match her, but he has to be a bit of a softy, not always alpha and he-man. :-)
~Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I write, I enjoy stories of all kinds, I love music and learning.
~Fav color
Purple
~Fav Scent
Natural oils like cherry or vanilla
~Fav Flavor
Cherry or grape!
~Fav shampoo
LUSH has a great shampoo bar, which doesn’t come in a plastic bottle (no wasting plastic!) and it lasts forever. Love it.
~Fav movies
Dangerous Liaisons
Millions
The Three Musketeers (1970s version)
~What are some of your favorite Hero / Heroine names?
I’m currently loving Vaillant, who is my vampire hero who grew up in Faery. Call him Vail, for short. It’s an odd name, but it just seems to work so well for him. My fav heroine name is Blu. I love a chick with a color for her name.~Do you read any reviews on your books?
Yes, and I’m trying to stop! It’s great to read a good review, but I know I can never please everyone, so reading a less than good review really hits me in the gut. It’s my baby! I worked on that story for a long time and thought it was great when I mailed it off. So to know that it didn’t appeal to someone, well, sigh...
~Do you read your own books after they make it to final print?
Sometimes. I always write what I love to read, and sometimes it’s been a while since I’ve read the book that is now in print so I will often find myself reading it and enjoying it all over again. I’ve had a hankering to dig out my old Bombshells and reread those, because I love those stories.
~What do you like to Read? Your Favorite Genre?
I like paranormal romance, and if it’s also historical, that is the perfect combination.
~How old were you when you began to write?
Late 20s.
~Is writing your full time job?
Yep!
~Whats a typical writing day for you like?
Up around 8, read email and check blogcrawl and FB, then to work for a few hours before lunch. Eat. Then work a few more hours, then break for Oprah.
~Do you set a daily writing goal?
No, I just sit down and write. Goals interfere with my concentration. That can be limiting and also scary.
~When and where do you like to write?
In my office, and usually best work is done in morning
~Do you prefer to write on a computer, typewriter, or paper and pen?
Computer. I cannot read my own handwriting, so when I take notes scribbled on paper, I have a heck of a time translating my scribbles. :-)
~What is the hardest / easiest part of writing for you?
It varies. Easiest is getting the first draft down. A few weeks of stream-of-thought writing just to get the story out of my head an onto the page. Hard stuff can be connecting with characters or making a plot work that suddenly fizzles halfway through the story.
~Whats the best thing about being an author?
Casual Fridays every day!
~How long did you write before you became a published author?
A few years. I wrote my first story (a vampire romance) and sent it off to a publisher. Six months later, they bought it.
~What are you reading at the moment?
I’m reading the ILLUSTRATOR CS4 Instruction Manual (for a computer program). I love computer manuals. Really was upset when they stopped including those with software. Remember those huge tomes? So now I’m trying to teach myself Illustrator.
~Is there a questions you have always wanted to be asked in an interview? If so how would you answer it?
What surprises you most about reviews on your book? Answer: that some readers take away a completely different idea from the story than I had intended, and oftentimes, it is something I never even considered when writing the story. Never ceases to amaze me how everyone views a story so differently.
~Do you have any advice for aspiring writers?
Write. Always. Then write some more.
~How man books / series have you written?
About 25 novels, and about half a dozen novellas.
~Can you tell us about some of them?
Details on my books at my website: michelehauf.com
~Is there a Genre you have always wanted to write in but for reasons you have not been able to?
Not yet!
~Do you have a new release, or a new release coming out soon? Can you tell us about it?
My current release is ANGEL SLAYER. It pits evil angels against demons who are fighting for good. For details, and to read the prologue and first chapter: michelehauf.com/as.html
~Do you set the mood to write? Listen to music, have a favorite chair, pen coffee mug, etc?
No mood needed, though I do need silence. No music (unless I’m editing), and if someone is in the house making noise, that throws me off. I cannot edit without my favorite red gel pen. If I don’t have one, I’ll make a special trip to Target just to get one.
~What are 3 things that are “must haves” for you when you sit down to write?
I must be ‘into’ the story
Silence
Chocolate (seriously)
~How do you come up with character names?
Much angsting and searching baby name books and online name sites. You would think with billions of names to pick from in the entire world, it would be easy to assign a character a name. But each character seems to only fit one particular name and until I find that name, the character isn’t real to me.

Her Vampire Husband
An arranged marriage between a werewolf and a vampire.
There will be blood.
She may resist his bite, but she can't resist his charms...
Werewolf princess Blu Masterson won't allow her seductive vampire husband to consummate their marriage with his bite, marking her forever. Alone in a secluded estate with her sworn enemy, Blu curses the marriage arranged to bring their rival nations together, especially since Creed Saint-Pierre calls out to her most feral desires.
When Blu uncovers her pack's secret plot to destroy the vampire nation—and Creed—she is forced to confront her growing feelings for her sexy undead husband. Will she choose the only life she's ever known or accept his vampire bite?
Halo Hunter
My name is Michael Donovan. I'm a halo hunter. And I want to believe.
For ten years I've been collecting halos, lost when fallen angels purposefully left heaven to mate with human women. But in all that time, I've never seen an angel.
In Paris searching for halo number fifteen, I get a lucky break when a gorgeous woman named Vinny offers up the halo's location--for a price. Even though she sends up all kinds of warning signals, I can't resist her offer. She's too interesting, too mysterious...and way too sexy.
Sure enough, soon I'm being shot at, followed by strange men, and learning more about the supernatural world from Vinny than I ever could have imagined. Why are the pretty ones always so dangerous?
