Delivered from the darkness, a woman finds herself plunged into a passion that is DEEPER THAN MIDNIGHT . . .

At eighteen, Corinne Bishop was a beautiful, spirited young woman living a life of privilege as the adopted daughter of a wealthy family. Her world was changed in an instant when she was stolen away and held prisoner by the malevolent vampire Dragos. After many years of captivity and torment, Corinne is rescued by the Order, a cadre of vampire warriors embroiled in a war against Dragos and his followers. Her innocence taken, Corinne has lost a piece of her heart as well--the one thing that gave her hope during her imprisonment, and the only thing that matters to her now that she is free.

Assigned to safeguard Corinne on her trip home is a formidable golden-eyed Breed male called Hunter. Once Dragos's most deadly assassin, Hunter now works for the Order, and he's hell-bent on making Dragos pay for his manifold sins. Bonded to Corinne by their mutual desire, Hunter will have to decide how far he'll go to end Dragos's reign of evil--even if carrying out his mission means shattering Corinne's tender heart.

Virtual Book Journey for Dead Undead, and Somwhere in Between by: J.A. Saare

Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between
By: J.A. Saare

One bad corpse can ruin your whole day. No one knows that better than Rhiannon Murphy. She’s left behind the flash and sass of Miami for the no-nonsense groove of New York City, eager for a clean slate and a fresh start. A bartender by trade, a loud mouth by choice, and a necromancer by chance; she’s managed to keep her nifty talent hidden from those around her – until now.

The deliciously good-looking vampire Disco knows her secret, and when he strolls into her bar to solicit help investigating the mysterious disappearances of his kind from the city, she discovers he’s not the kind of person that appreciates the significance of the word no.

But in a world where vampires peddle their blood as the latest and greatest drug of choice, it’s only a matter of time before the next big thing hits the market. Someone or something is killing vampires to steal their hearts, and unlike Rhiannon, this isn’t their first stroll around the undead block.

A Buzzar Twist
By Jeff Bennington

I love writing thrillers. The suspense, the fear factor, the chase and the excitement make it not only enjoyable reading, and fun to write. For me, what really makes writing exciting is the twist. And if I can come up with more than one twist…even better!

When I set out to write Reunion, my supernatural thriller, I had a basic outline of what I wanted to accomplish, but there were no twists—zilch, zero, nada. I had planned for several frightening moments, and key figures that would bring valuable and necessary information, but I didn’t have a twist; you know, the kind that throws you on the floor so hard that your ribs hurt for a week.

It was halfway into the rough draft when two major twists wrapped themselves around my head and squeezed until I agreed to install them. As you can imagine, it took very little coercion on their part because I loved the ideas. I can’t tell you what they are for obvious reasons, but if you’ve read any of my reviews you know that there’s a twist about two thirds of the way through that has floored my readers. And that is so exciting! That is the ultimate rush for me as a writer. Knowing that I not only creeped out my readers, thrilled them with the suspense, and made them fall in love with the cast would’ve been enough. But the twist seems to be the thing that clutched the victory, the five star reviews and the buzz.

Writing a romance novel-the fulfillment of a dream…sort of!

People ask me all the time if I always knew I wanted to write or I always dreamed of being a writer. Well, yes. Sort of. I always had a fertile imagination. When I was twelve I told everyone in the town where we lived that I was going to Hollywood to star in a movie. (We lived in a small town and of course no one believed me!)

In high school I wrote a one act play entirely in French and I was always making up stories with my friends. Sometimes I would scribble these ideas down for “later” – no one told me that “later” really comes later.

Book Tour: Catching an Evil Tail by: Mary Abshire + Giveaway

Saturday, April 9, 2011

Hello Everyone! Thanks for stopping by and reading my post.

I'm on a blog/book tour promoting my second Soul Catcher novel, Catching an Evil Tail. Today, I'm blogging about titles for my books in this series.

With the first novel, Claiming the Evil Dead, I made a short list and narrowed the titles with help from my daughter. The time involved wasn't much. Coming up with the title for book 2 was easier. Since Jessie is after a werewolf, I simply used the word tail and I thought "catching" sounded good with "tail". But did you notice both the first and second Soul Catcher novel have "Evil" in the title?

Ok, so it's now a habit to use that word, which may prove to be difficult as the series continues. At least, I'm thinking that might be the case.

The next book, Fighting Evil, is a general reference. But in future novels, I'm starting to have difficulty in finding titles. Yes, she's always sending evil souls to hell. That's what the main character does. But now, I question if I should continue to use the word "evil."

For starters, I don't want you/the reader to think my books are horror novels. Anyone who has read one knows they are far from it, but the title could be deceiving. Secondly, now that I've used the word three times, can I really change it and keep readers interested in the series? Will it throw you/the reader off?

I like the idea of using a common word in titles. It is kind of fun, but it makes for coming up with titles trickier and trickier.

For now, I'll stick with using the word in titles. But I'm curious to hear some feedback on this. Care to leave me a comment answering my questions above?

Book Tour: The Samaritan, by Fred Venturini : Guest Post + Giveaway

Wednesday, March 23, 2011

I have eleven scars from eleven separate incidents, collected as a result of bad luck and bad decisions. All of them are evidence of healing, and healing, to me, is a curious phenomenon and something that I wanted to explore a little bit in my novel, The Samaritan.

Think of healing. What comes to mind? Bright thoughts of light and religion, of closed wounds and miracles? Probably. But healing, the process, the body going through the repair of a devastated area, well, that is agonizing and takes a lot of time. Depending on the devastation, of course.
